Seems like it's true. I heard the other night at the GameShack in Agincourt mall and then confirmed by using Google. NewType USA is cancelled.....OMG I love that magazine! 65 issues is what it ran. They said it will be replaced by a new magazing called PiQ.
First Geneon....then the Anime Network....now NewType...OMG!!! _________________ I am your terrible great king!!!! |

Whoa, what's that about Anime Network? _________________ Smart is simply measured by how much you can memorize and put it to use. Genius is measured by how much creativity you can pour into that smart. |

Frankly, they probably saturated the market. Yes, there are a lot of anime fans out there, and the community is growing, but it's like all of a sudden EVERYONE was jumping on the anime bandwagon. Fans will only spend so much before falling back on the age-old fansubs and scanlations. _________________ Calico |

Also most anime fans are young teenagers.....read....the narutards. Which do not have alot of disposible income such as adults and therefore cannot spend as much on anime. Not to mention it's pretty damn easy to download what you want. Fansubs were alot harder to come by back in the day. Hell I used to pay for them on VHS. Days were crazy!
As for manga I think it's still goin pretty strong.....to strong even. There is still way to much manga on the market.. I noticed 2 or 3 new companies recently even..... _________________ I am your terrible great king!!!! |
